In the webclient, chat operators have a link to the current day's chats for that particular guest ID. This is handy when a new operator receives a chat from a returning guest, since it lets them find the prior chat more quickly than they could using the integrated Chat History search.
It can also be used in training as an easy way for trainees to "follow along" or shadow a chat-in-progress with another operator. This is another thing that can be also be done through Chat History, but the Today's Chat link makes it easier.
Following this link opens a new tab for the operator and from there, they can view the current, ongoing chat and see if there are previous chats.
If transcript storage was enabled on the previous chat, then the transcript can be viewed.
